Daniel Cormier wants a light heavyweight title shot immediately after his bout with Roy Nelson. Does he deserve to “cut the line?”
Cormier doesn’t want to fight Cain Velasquez since they are training partners. Instead, we wants the winner of Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson. Cormier would first have to get past Roy Nelson at UFC 166. This is not an easy task due to Big Country’s knockout power.
Glover Teixeira is next in line for a title shot, and if Cormier wants to move down the LHW, he should still have to climb the ladder to get a title shot. Let’s see him get past Lyoto Machida or Rashad Evans first.
In the heavyweight bracket, if JDS beats Cain in their third bout, Cormier would probably stay in the HW weight class. With Fabricio Werdum next in line, should Cormier be allowed to leapfrog ahead if JDS wins? He will most likely need a stunning knockout in his upcoming fight.
